CHILDREN'S MINISTRY
Children’s Ministry at Mustang United Methodist Church offers a variety of settings in which children can learn about Jesus and what it means to have a relationship with Him.
Rotation Sunday School starts at 9:45 a.m. every Sunday morning and is located on the second floor of our Family Life Center.
Our children, in preschool through fifth grade, enjoy a Bible lesson taught each Sunday throughout one month using cooking, crafts, games, videos, and drama.
Our nursery, for children ages birth through 4 years, is currently staffed by three paid caregivers and a number of servants we lovingly call "Huggers and Rockers." We are very fortunate to have three individuals who feel so strongly about the nurture and care of children. All are certified in CPR and have undergone a background check by the Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation.
Children's Church is for children ages 4 through second grade. It meets in the G.Y.M Classroom down the hall from the sanctuary and parlor following Wiggle Time in the 10:50 worship service. Children enjoy a short video and craft time.
Meal and Ministry (M&Ms) is each Wednesday night, with longer sessions in the fall and spring and a shorter session in the summer. Kids can enjoy dinner with their families and then participate in a Bible lesson and game time with their friends.
Every year, Children's Ministry hosts a number of events for our children, ages kindergarten through fifth grade. Among those are: Vacation Bible School each summer, an annual Easter Egg Hunt, and an annual Children's Christmas Program.
Acolyte Ministry is for children in second grade and older. Acolytes are an important part of each worship service, as they light the altar candles beginning each service, aid the ushers with the offering, and put out the candles at the close of the service.
Each winter, Mustang United Methodist Church participates in Upward Basketball. We provide our Family Life Center gym for games, host concession stands, provide coaches, and work with other churches in Mustang to promote this great athletic program for the kids in our community.
